You just purchased your first beautifully designed template, with external .css from
BasicTemplates.com. So how do you get it into Dreamweaver?
1. First you will need to
define your site in Dreamweaver, so that you will have a place to store files.
2. Open up your template package zip file with your unzip software. When you open it you will see a sub-folder, named accordingly and associated with the template you purchase (something like 408). Open this file and you will see three more files: an "imges" directory, a CSS file (btstyle408.css) and an HTML file (index.html). Go to file in the menu bar and click on > Select All. Then choose Copy. Be sure you do not choose Cut or you will lose your original template. You did make a backup copy, right? :-)
3. Using WIndows Explorer, open up your Dreamweaver file from your My Documents folder. Then go to File > Paste.
4. Startup Dreamweaver. Open the site by going to File > open > MyDocuments > Sitename. Click on Open. You are now ready to work on your new website.
