Bozo, My New Buddy

Hello Folks. I am BasicSusan and wear several hats here at BasicTemplates.com. Among those hats is my every day duties as Billing Specialist which on occasion can be a little frustrating, and unfortunately, gets me involved in the underground world of the not-so-nice Internet. Take my word for it - it is not a pretty place.

BasicRic announced last week that I had a new friend. Although I don't usually bop my friends, I'd guess you could say that Bozo, the punching bag, is a nice buddy to have around for those moments when screaming may cause the neighboring businesses to promptly dial 911. ;)

If you want a Bozo buddy like mine, you can find him here:

Or perhaps you can have him shipped to one of your friends for a good laugh. My bozo did just that and the UPS guy loved him too. Thanks a bunch, my dear friend, BasicRic!

A New Friend?

The rumor around the office is that BasicSusan has a new friend. He arrived yesterday.

I'm told through the grapevine that the UPS guy had a very big grin on his face when he delivered BasicSusan's new friend. Can you guess who he is?

I've emailed BasicSusan (Who btw has NOT posted yet in our BasicBlog!) so she can tell you folks all about her new friend. {BIG GRIN}

100 [New] Logo Templates

Hey folks. In case you did not realize it, in the last three weeks we have added 100 new logo templates to the members area. Or as always, they can be purchased individually by non-members for only $5.00 USD each. You do not have to be a subscribing member to get this affordable price. Check them out!

Our logo templates are in .psd format with a 300 dpi resolution which makes them printer compatiable.

What is a PSD? Find out here.

If you do not have a use for a printer compatiable logo, you may be interested to know that there are many other useful ideas you can do with our Logo Templates. What ideas, you ask?

Another BASICALLY BRIGHT IDEA!

Never underestimate the power of what a BasicTemplates "Logo Template" can do for you! Our logo templates are designed at 300 dpi for print quality on small print jobs such as letterhead, business cards, invitations, and envelopes. However, did you know they are functional for other purposes too?

Here are a few ideas that might help spark your creative right-brain:

- web page logos: resize our logos and reduce their resolution for web page compatibility
- web page accents: some of our logos can be resized small enough to product a page accent
- splash page images: use them for your website's splash page entry page
- watermarks: reduce their size and transparency for your website's watermark
- revisions: rearrange, add, or delete the layers to change the logo into a new logo
- combine: combine layers from logo to logo to create a new logo

BestFriends.org

Back in June I designed five web templates with a dog theme (Templates #896 thru 900). Several of you wrote thanking me for the free custom dog template offer and sadly, the offer is now closed. Ahhh... sorry!

However, I do have a website I hope that all pet lovers will take the time to visit. I think you will find it fascinating and uplifting. It is www.bestfriends.org and it is a animal shelter like you have never seen before located in Utah, USA. Even Brad Pitt (my #1 fav actor) has been involved with this awesome organization.

A few facts to get you interested:

- Over 650 dogs live at this animal shelter. They eat 10 tons of dry kibble and 7,800 cans of moist food each month.
- Over 650 cats live at this animal shelter too. They are fed one ton of dry food, 4,875 cans of moist food and 250 pounds of special diet food each month.
- The horses and burros at the shelter chow down 1,200 pounds of grain each month.
- The bunnies who live there nibble through 2,000 pounds of rabbit food each month.
- And the birds peck at over 1,800 pounds of seeds and other food every single month.

Do I have you convinced that you HAVE to visit this site? I hope so ... www.bestfriends.org

Fact or Crap? D'oh!

Hey folks. I thought I'd post a fun survey for a change. The results of this poll and the correct answer will be posted next week. So be sure to stop back and find out whether this is a fact or if I simply made up this crap. {grin}

Summertime Sales Slow Down Getting You Down?

Depending on your business market, sometimes the summer season brings lower sales or income revenues. Most folks are enjoying vacations, attending outdoor events, family reunions or busy keeping their lawns and gardens maintained. They may not be thinking about web design or their websites.

Don't worry about the potential sales decline and certainly do not let it discourage you. It is normal in any trade to have slower periods. Use this time very wisely to updated your website, improve your products, services and marketing. You can also take those tech educational courses you have been putting off or take a little personal vacation of your own.

The fall crush is just around the corner. Isn't that good to know? :)
