Subcontractor Application Form

Web Designer(s) are needed to provide template customizations for our customers. All of our full-time designers are on overload, so we are looking for qualified, experienced subcontractors. You would be working directly for our customers. We will simply be referring our customers to YOU for template customizations for templates they have already purchased from us. Most customizations will likely be relative to button text, company name applied, image maps sliced and converted to rollovers, hyperlinking, additional page creation, etc.

Qualifications Required (please do not apply if you do not meet all of these specifications):

• All subcontractors must be a subscribing BasicTemplates.com member. [ Find out How to Become a Member ]
• You must have no less than three years of web design and web graphic design experience.
• You must provide us with no less than five web site URLs you have designed for "businesses". Please choose the "Top 5" in the order you wish us to review them. Naturally, listing the one you feel is the best first and so on.
• You must have a web site design business with an active web site that we can visit. A client portfolio we can browse would be helpful.
• You must design a special "landing page" which will be hosted on our site, and where we will send our customers so that they can browse your qualifications, rates, and contact you, if they wish. (This landing page should only be developed "'after" your subcontrator application has been approved. Note that not all applications submitted will be approved. Further details about what should be included on your landing page, file format, structure and other processes will be sent to you when your application is approved. Your landing page will have a specific layout in the form of a template which we will send you when your application has been approved.
• Your design costs for this subcontracting project must be affordable. Your customization rates must be per item (button text, company name text, etc.), must be realistic and stated clearly on your special subcontractor landing page. Stating an 'hourly' rate for minor customizations is not an acceptable way to present your rates to our customers. Why? We understand and agree that most professional designers do charge an hourly rate. However, we feel that with small jobs relative to the customizations of our templates, a price per item (ie. text on buttons ... $10.00/per 10 buttons or $1.00 per button) would be more attractive and much more understandable by someone who is unfamiliar with the process, than simply stating $50/hr. Most people will not know how long it will take the designer to perform the task.
• Your special landing page must not contain any type of advertising or affiliate program links nor should your web site where we will be sending our customers to contact you. This program is not a means to generate hit traffic for your affiliate programs but was designed for serious subcontractors who want to increase their clientele and supplement income by "designing" fully functional, fully customized web sites for customers we send them using our templates.
• You are not permitted to resell our templates. You must produce fully functional, fully customized sites for the clients we send you. This is the same copyright policy in our Terms of Use. In some cases you may need to purchase the use of the layered PSD file from us to complete the project specific to the clients' needs. • We reserve the right to disqualify any subcontractor from our list without explanation. It is important to us that our customers be treated with respect, fairly, and with high business ethics. Any subcontrator who abuses their contract with us in any manner (which is at our sole discretion) or is in non-compliance to our policies will be disqualified from the program.
